First post
This is a post to test this blog. I am very excited about the possibilities of group communication between the women of WSA going forward into the future. Here are some upcoming events to know about in 2007:
The 6th Annual Int'l Conference on Shamanism
The 6th Annual Int'l Conference on Sacred Sexuality
Held together Jan 19-23 2007 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Email contact is: www.bizspirit.com
Ellen & Bob will be attending to check out the scene and do some research into the current offerings of "tantra" education in the US.
The 13th Int'l Congress for the Association of Pre & Perinatal Psychology & Health (APPPAH)
Held Feb 21-26 2007 at the LAX Hilton Hotel in LA.
Ellen will be attending. Last year i went and learned SOO much! This was one of the most rich of all possible learning environments for WSA core materials and values. Tons of info about all aspects of women's reproductive lives, from parenting issues to the conditions of childbirth in the US, to male circumcision trauma, to the relationship of immunization to autism, etc, etc. HIGHLY recommended. If you decide to attend, but don't know which events, seminars or workshops to check out, let me know and i'll tell who i think is interesting amoung the presenters. This is also a good networking opporptunity.
The Institute fir the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality
Sexological Bodywork Training
Held March 24th-May 20th, 2007 ; May 5-20th residential in San Francisco.
This is a training to learn to lead group sexuality explorations. you can learn more about the program at:

Elen & Bob are planning to attend. I am very exited already about the books on the reading list for this class. Here's what's good:
The Erotic Mind, by Jack Morin, Ph.D. - a fantastic and thorough exploration of the intersection of psyche and personal sex. All about what turns us on and why. It is the nature of our arousal that makes us each unique. This is the first book i've found that really explores the core of the arousal issue as the central most important clue to understanding ourselves as sexual beings - a damn good read.
Indescent Pracices and Erotic Trance: Making Sense of Tantra by John Ryan Haule-
The best treatment of Tantra as a historical entity of substance ever. This is a downloadable for free book available on the net at: www.jrhaule.net
A scholarly treatment of the history and integration of tantra and jungian psychology, but from a surprisingly embodied place. Most books of this nature have left me cold, since i have not respected the energetic or more accuately the lack of genuine energetic understanding of the authors. This book gets right into the nitty gritty of defining and describing a wide and eclectic mix of tantra myth, history and even science. I highly recommend this as the first reading in tantra by which to compare all other studies.
That's it for now, more to come.
